“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9
Mary showed courage when she said yes to God’s plan.
Joseph showed courage when he chose to stand by Mary.
The shepherds showed courage when they left their flocks to seek a baby.
Christmas is a story of courage.
Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is doing what’s right even when you’re afraid.
God might be calling you to do something that scares you.
To have a hard conversation.
To make a difficult change.
To step into the unknown.
To stand up for what’s right.
To let go of what’s familiar.
You don’t have to be brave in yourself. You just have to remember: “The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” You’re not going alone. He’s with you. That changes everything.
Be strong. Be courageous.
Not because you’re fearless, but because God is faithful.
Not because you’re capable, but because He’s with you.
Pause and Reflect:
What is God calling you to do that requires courage?
What would change if you truly believed He is with you?
Let us pray:
Lord, give me courage when fear tries to hold me back.
Even when I feel afraid, remind me that You are always with me.
Help me to be strong and courageous, not through my own strength but through Yours.
You go before me to prepare the way, and You walk beside me so l am never alone.
Fill my heart with faith and boldness to do what You have called me to do.
