Seek the Son

Not sinless. Sin less.

Preface: I am guilty of all of the below at one point or another in my life. And that? That is exactly why I need Jesus Christ.

If you are a Christian, and you say you haven’t broken some of the commandments, or committed some of the seven deadly sins, you are lying. No one is perfect, no one is sinless. All we can strive for is to sin less.

1. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images.

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy.

5. Honor thy father and thy mother.

6. Thou shalt not murder.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8. Thou shalt not steal.

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

10. Though shalt not covet thy neighbor.

Is it possible to adhere to all of these all of the time. No. Of course not.

Is it possible to try in earnest, and repent for the commandments you have broken? Absolutely.

Greed

Gluttony

Sloth

Envy

Wrath

Pride

Lust

Is it possible to avoid all of these all of the time. No. Of course not.

Is it possible to try in earnest, and repent for the ones you have committed? Absolutely.

That is why the Father sent his only begotten Son to be crucified for us.

That is why Jesus Christ got on the cross.

Salvation. Grace. Mercy. Forgiveness.

And that is why we will NEVER understand the grace, mercy, or forgiveness that the Father has for us. We are incapable of understanding it.

But you know what we CAN do? Turn to Jesus Christ and repent.

For He is the life, the truth, and the way.
